More Tablet Details

So, looking at the Thomson M6 made me curious to see what the SoC is.  Finding the means to unearth that information lead me to look for apps that do that.  There's lots available on Google Play and on SlideMe (for the unfortunate Coby Kyros).  I read the findings and here was what I found.

Eken

The first of the cheap-o tablets comes with a VIA WonderMedia WM8850 (ARM Cortex-A9; single core) overclocked apparently to 1.2 GHz.  RAM is 512 MB DDR and the GPU is Mali-400 MP.  Though the GPU is claimed to be dual core, I have serious doubts about that.  It runs on 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich which is no surprise since it's fairly recognizable to me.  The device model is recognized as WM8850-mid.

Coby Kyros

This baby uses the Allwinner A10 (ARM Cortex-A8; single core) clocked at 1 GHz and hilariously claims a screen size of 7.0 inches despite the fact that it's a 10 inch tablet.  RAM is at 1 GB DDR.  GPU is identified as Mali-400 MP (single core GPU) and judging by the abysmal performance, I would probably agree.  The screen resolution is at 1024x600.  Android OS is 4.0.3.  The device is reported as MID1042.

Thomson M6

The new one in town uses an Infotmic iMAPx800 x2 1 GHz (ARM Cortex-A5 dual core) processor running actually at 804 MHz.  RAM is 1 GB DDR with a Mali 400 MP (dual core GPU).  Screen resolution is at 1024x600 and correctly reports the 7" display.  Android OS is 4.1.1.  The device is reported as M6 (Infotmic).
